Hollow drive axles / couplings shafts
Our hollow drive axles, also called coupling shafts or intermediate axles, are available in both rigid and elastic versions. The dynamic torsional rigidity of these axes is very high. These couplings have a wide scope and are widely used for screw spindles and gearboxes. Due to the choice of material, the coupling is resistant to oil and high temperatures and may be lacquered, coated or tectyl-coated.
Characteristics hollow drive axles
- Simple
- Compact design
- Low weight
- Low mass inertia
- High permissible rotational speeds
- Large bore diameters possible
- Fully maintenance free
- Good price / performance ratio
- The elements are radially expandable, without shifting of the floating and driven parts
- The torque is constantly passed at a constant speed, with no clearance taking place
- The coupling does not cause reaction forces on axles and bearings during torque transfer
Areas of application
This type of shaft finds its application especially as a cardan intermediate shaft powered by stepping motors, hydromotors, electric motors and engine reducers in combination with gearboxes and jacks / screwdrivers.
